massage therapy in missoula
Therapeutic massage supporting muscle relief and nervous system regulation.
Massage therapy is more than just relaxing tight muscles. Your body carries the effects of stress, injury, and daily life, and sometimes it needs the right environment to finally soften and reset.
As a licensed massage therapist in Missoula, I offer therapeutic bodywork that supports both physical relief and nervous system regulation. Each session is tailored to what your body needs that day, helping release tension while allowing your system to settle and restore balance.
My goal isn’t to force change in the body, but to create the conditions where it can naturally release what it has been holding.
Who massage therapy can help
Many clients seek massage therapy for support with:
• chronic muscle tension
• neck, jaw, shoulder, and back pain
• headaches or migraines
• stress and nervous system overwhelm
• fatigue or difficulty relaxing
• tension that builds from work, posture, or daily stress
Regular massage can help the body move out of chronic tension and back toward a relaxed and rejuvenated state.
Ready to feel like you again?
What sets my work apart
Massage therapy can be incredibly powerful when it’s not rushed or forced. My goal is to create an environment where your body can relax enough to shift out of constant tension and into a more balanced state.
Sessions may include a combination of:
• therapeutic massage
• deep or soft tissue work
• trigger point therapy
• nervous system–focused bodywork
• intuitive techniques based on what your body needs that day
Rather than forcing change, I work with the body’s natural responses so that the results feel sustainable.

Session options
option add-on: reiki
Reiki energy work can be added to any massage session for clients who would like additional support for relaxation, nervous system regulation, and energetic balance.
Reiki is a gentle hands-on energy practice that many clients find deeply calming. When combined with massage, it can help the body settle even more fully into a restorative state.
You’re welcome to add Reiki when booking, or we can decide together during your session if it feels supportive that day.
WHAT TO EXPECT
Your session begins with a short conversation about what your body is experiencing and what you’d like support with. From there, the work is guided by your body’s needs, allowing space for both physical relief and deeper relaxation.
Many clients notice improvements in tension, range of motion, and overall well-being after regular sessions.
Why clients work with me
Many people come to me after trying other things that only gave temporary relief. My approach is different because I look at the body as a whole system rather than just a collection of sore muscles.
Clients often work with me because they want:
• deeper relief from chronic tension
• a massage that actually addresses stress in the body
• support for nervous system overwhelm
• bodywork that feels intuitive and responsive to their needs
• a practitioner who listens and adapts each session
Every body is different, so every session is different. Some days your body may need deeper work. Other days it may need a slower approach that allows the nervous system to relax.
Together, we listen to your body and support the needs yours has each session.
FAQs
-
Your session will begin with a short conversation about what your body has been experiencing and what you’d like support with. From there, the session is tailored to your needs that day. Some clients prefer deeper therapeutic work, while others need a slower, more relaxing approach. The goal is always to help your body settle and release tension in a way that feels actually supportive, not just what you have been told “should” be supportive.
-
Not at all. Some clients love chatting, while others prefer to relax in silence. You’re welcome to communicate if something needs adjusting, but otherwise the session can be as quiet and restful as you’d like.
You set the pace and I follow your lead on this one.
-
It depends on what your body needs. Some clients come weekly or biweekly when working through chronic tension, while others schedule monthly sessions for maintenance and stress relief. Others pop in as needed a couple times per year.
We can talk about what might support you best.
-
Clients typically undress to their comfort level (I use lotion as a medium). You will always be properly draped during the session, and only the area being worked on will be uncovered.
Can I underline that this is a professional massage, nothing untoward here from either party. :)
-
Yessss. Reiki energy work can be added to any session if you would like additional support for relaxation and nervous system regulation. Some clients find the combination of massage and Reiki especially helpful for deep relaxation.
-
Sometimes it can. Reiki and bodywork can help the nervous system relax, and when that happens people may notice emotions or sensations that have been held in the body beginning to move or surface.
This is a normal part of the body processing and integrating experiences. If emotions come up during a session, you are always supported and welcome to simply allow whatever is present without pressure or expectation.
Not every session brings up emotions—many people simply experience deep relaxation—but it’s helpful to know that emotional release can occasionally be part of the process.

my story
My path into this work didn’t start with massage therapy alone. It started with my own journey of learning how deeply the body holds stress, emotions, and life experiences.
Like many people, I spent years trying to understand why tension, overwhelm, and certain patterns kept showing up in my life and in my body. Through that process, I discovered how powerful it can be when we stop fighting the body and start listening to it.
That curiosity led me into bodywork, nervous system education, and somatic practices. Over time I saw how often people come in thinking they just have tight muscles, when what they’re really carrying is the weight of stress, pressure, and everything life has asked them to hold.
Massage became a way for me to help people reconnect with their bodies in a grounded and supportive way. When the body finally feels safe enough to relax, things begin to shift, and people often leave feeling more like themselves again.
Today my work combines therapeutic massage with a deeper understanding of the nervous system and how our bodies process stress and emotion.
Bottom line: I help create a space where your body can finally release some of these burdens.
This is why I fell in love with this work:
Because I know what it feels like to hide behind a mask that says “my pain isn’t that bad, I don’t need help.”
To minimize yourself and your pain to make others around you more comfortable.
To carry on the burden that others won’t, and feel your body pay the price for it.
To struggle with headaches, migraines, neck and back pain, injuries, and more.
For a long time, that was my normal.
What changed wasn’t pushing harder or fixing myself.
It was letting go of the roles I was stuck in and allowing myself to finally receive help.
Not just from others, but from myself.
Which meant saying “Yes” to me. Finally.
And if you’re here, some part of you already knows that it’s time for you to do that, too.
“Tora has been such a resource to me—one of my highlights to living in Missoula. Her massage therapy technique and Reiki practice has me feeling more connected to my body than I thought possible.”
