online Emotional release
Somatic healing sessions that help your nervous system release stored stress, emotion, and tension—guided virtually so you can experience this work from anywhere.
Many people assume body-based healing has to happen in person.
But your nervous system doesn’t actually require physical touch to process and release what it’s been holding.
Online Emotional Release sessions create a guided space where your body can begin to move through stress, emotion, and survival patterns safely—all from the comfort of your own home.
All you need is to a comfy spot, make sure you have a pillow, blanket, and tissues handy, and we’ll dive in.
first off,
What is emotional release?
Emotional Release is a body-based healing process that helps the nervous system process and release stress, emotion, and experiences that have become stuck in the body.
When we go through difficult experiences — stress, trauma, grief, overwhelm — the nervous system often doesn’t get the chance to fully process what happened.
Instead, the body adapts by holding tension, shutting down certain emotions, or staying in a constant state of alert.
Over time this can show up as things like:
• chronic tension in the body
• anxiety or overwhelm
• emotional numbness
• feeling disconnected from yourself
• patterns that feel difficult to shift
• a sense that something inside you wants to move but can’t
Emotional Release sessions help the body finish processing what it didn’t have the safety or space to process at the time.
“I’ve already talked about this.”
I know, I know.
You understand your past. You know where your patterns come from.
But… Do you still feel stuck?
That’s because understanding something mentally doesn’t always mean the nervous system has fully processed it.
Talking helps us make sense of our experiences.
Somatic work helps the body move through the stress and emotion that may still be held in the nervous system.
Instead of analyzing the experience again, we work with what your body is doing right now—the tension, emotion, or nervous system pattern that is still present.
For many people this becomes the missing piece between understanding their story and actually feeling different in their body.
how online emotional release works
Sessions take place over video (Zoom) and are guided step-by-step.
Even though we are not in the same room, your nervous system can still respond deeply to this work.
During the session we may work with things like:
breath
body awareness
nervous system regulation
emotional processing
gentle somatic techniques
Your body leads the process. Nothing is forced.
Sometimes sessions involve emotional expression like crying, shaking, or movement.
Other sessions are quiet and deeply calming.
Both are normal responses as the nervous system begins to release what it has been holding.
Why many people prefer online sessions
For some people, doing this work at home actually allows the nervous system to relax more deeply.
You’re in a familiar space.
Your body already knows it’s safe there.
Many clients find that this allows them to drop into the process more easily than they expected.
Online sessions also make this work accessible if you:
• live outside of Missoula
• prefer to work from home
• want privacy and comfort in your own environment
• don’t have access to somatic practitioners locally
Clients join sessions from all over the globe.

“With the help of Tora's insight, I realized that I should allow every feeling I have and reflect on it instead of trying to refuse it. And when I did, it released itself , and I felt calmer.”

What a session feels like
Online sessions tend to feel surprisingly natural.
You’re in your own space—sitting or lying somewhere comfortable—while I guide you through the process in real time.
Because you’re already in a familiar environment, many people find their body relaxes more quickly than they expected.
During the session we pay attention to what your body is doing moment to moment. This might include noticing areas of tension, changes in breathing, emotions that begin to surface, or places where your nervous system starts to settle.
Some people experience things like:
• a deep sense of calm or relaxation
• emotional release such as tears or laughter
• warmth, tingling, or movement in the body
• a feeling of pressure or tension finally softening
• moments of clarity or emotional relief
Other sessions are much quieter, simply allowing the nervous system to slow down and regulate.
There’s no “right” experience.
Your body releases and processes things in its own way, and we follow that process rather than forcing anything to happen.
Many people finish the session feeling lighter, clearer, and more connected to themselves.
What emotional release can help you with
People come to online Emotional Release sessions when they feel like something inside them has been stuck for a long time.
These sessions can help support things like:
• chronic stress or nervous system overwhelm
• feeling emotionally stuck or unable to process certain experiences
• anxiety or a constant sense of internal pressure
• difficulty slowing down or relaxing
• feeling numb or disconnected from your emotions
• repeating emotional patterns that feel hard to shift
• major life transitions or periods of change
This work isn’t about diagnosing or fixing you.
It’s about helping your nervous system move through experiences and emotions that may not have had the space to fully process before.
When the body is given that space, many people notice a greater sense of clarity, calm, and connection to themselves.
“The body always leads us home… if we can simply learn to trust sensation and stay with it long enough for it to reveal the appropriate action.”
— Pat Ogden
my approach
I grew up a highly sensitive child. Life impacted me more deeply than I felt I was allowed to let on. I was told things like:
“You’re too sensitive.”
“You’re such a wimp.”
“You don’t have it that bad, just relax.”
I learned very quickly that hiding my emotions made it easier for others.
So I did.
Over the years, that meant hiding discomfort as much as possible, but as a cry for help, using passive-aggressive language to try and communicate my needs.
My relationships suffered, my body suffered, my character suffered.
I was diagnosed with depression, anxiety, migraines, heart palpitations and more.
And I finally reached a point where I said, “Enough.”
I found somatic healing, and it changed the game for me.
I can openly express when I need support to my people, and receive it.
When I experience symptoms, I can be present with them and provide my body with what it needs. These symptoms are less chronic and don’t overwhelm me like they used to.
I have energy, hope, and authentic expression again.
My entire quality of life has improved, and I’m here to give you the tools as well.
frequently asked questions:
-
Yes. The nervous system responds primarily to safety, awareness, and guidance—not just physical touch.
Many people are surprised by how powerful online somatic work can be (it’s how I have received all of mine).
-
Nope! Most people come to their first session with no prior experience.
-
Emotional expression is a natural part of how the nervous system processes stress and experiences.
Sessions always move at your pace and nothing is forced.
-
That’s also normal.
Think of it like this:
“What have I been telling myself I’m not allowed to be, do, or experience, but deeply need?”
This could be sleep, stillness, or a lot of deep breathing.
Emotional Release actually encompasses more than just experiencing emotion. It’s experiencing the entirety of You.
-
Nope. I am a somatic practitioner and not a licensed mental health counselor. My education focuses on the body and nervous system, not talk therapy.
-
Just a quiet space where you can sit or lie down comfortably and a stable internet connection.
If you lay down, you will most likely have a deeper experience than sitting up, so I do recommend a bed or comfortable spot on the floor.I will need to see you on camera to monitor breath patterns and other subconscious movement, so you will need a place to lay your phone or laptop down so you can keep your hands free, while keeping the camera facing you. A lot of my clients use their nightstand and lay on their bed.
Make sure you have pillows, blankets, tissues, and water nearby, and that you won’t be disturbed during your session. You will primarily keep your eyes closed in a meditative state, and limiting distractions will support you in your process.
